Pumpkins and rock painting

Friday afternoon Maddie and I went to buy a few pumpkins and a bale of hay. We put them in our front flower bed (that has no pansies yet) with a fun scarecrow. I love fall, I just wish we were having some nice fall weather, unfortunately it is still in the high eighties low nineties! YIKES! I'm ready for long sleeved shirts, cool crisp nights and fall food! You know chili, beans and corn bread...

On Thursday Maddie went to our sweet friend, Miss Jo's house to spend the afternoon. The two of them had a great time, while they were out shopping Miss Jo bought Maddie this neat book about painting rocks. Maddie has spent most of the weekend painting rocks with anyone who would sit down long enough to pick up a paint brush! She has painted with Kayleigh, with Daddy and with her cousin EmiLee. Here is her collection so far...

Just precious. I love to see little one's creativity at work. They are so unencumbered...do you know what I mean? Do where do you live? I thought you lived in the South, but your comment about the crisp fall weather made me think you don't!

Hi Nee nee. I have been a little flaky lately on the blog checking. Just so much going on in life right now. A lot of it the stuff I can't post. I just read your last post and it broke my heart. It amazes me how often a health care worker will speak on some bit of "news" they don't realize has never been delivered yet. I know my MIL has mentioned their staffing is at desperate levels, but they also won't hire jusst anyone with a nursing degree either, so I guess that's bad and good. I will partner Fletcher with Ashley when I pray for them to walk one day. On the flip side, I am glad to see you enjoying a bit of fall. I pointed out the first red leaf to the kids this morning on the way to school. Maybe summer is coming to an end after all.

You just reminded me I need to get some pumkin patch pictures made. Your daughter is beautiful, and bet she is really enjoying her artwork. My girls love to paint!
