Girl Scout...

Tonight Maddie and I went to her first Girl Scout meeting. We have been talking about it for a week, constantly. Maddie was a little shy at first and didn't want to play with the other girls. I'm sure it was a little overwhelming for her. She wasn't sure she wanted to stay until Ms. Julie walked into the building. Ms. Julie was the teacher's aide in Maddie's class at the beginning of the school year and after Christmas break she had moved to a different class. Ms. Julie is the leader for Maddie's class at Girl Scouts! What a blessing! The rest of the night went so well and she had a blast. I loved Girl Scouts when I young and I was so hoping Maddie would want to be a part of the Girl Scouts. It has changed a lot since I was a girl. The PreK and Kindergartners are Daisies, first and second graders are Brownies, and after that you're a Cadet. I'll keep you posted on how things go!

Easter Sunday...

Well, we had a great Easter! Thank you so much for praying for our time together. We started our day with a egg hunt in the living room. Maddie found all the eggs that we painted on Friday night. Craig and I went and picked up Fletcher from TCC and Craig's parents took the girls to our church. We met them at the parking lot for yet another egg hunt. This time Fletcher was able to be a part of the festivities. He pretty much hated every minute of it! It was very cold on Easter, but at least it didn't rain!

See what I mean!

Happy to be inside!

After church we hurried home because Fletcher eats at noon, gets a breathing treatment at noon and he has noon meds! And my family was coming for lunch at one! WOW! We had about 20 over for the afternoon and it went really well. Fletcher loved all the attention from his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandma! Maddie really enjoyed getting to play with her cousin Tanner, she hadn't seen him since Christmas so she was very excited! After we ate lunch we had another egg hunt. My brother and my big boy nephews hid the eggs. This was so special to me, my dad always hid the eggs for us when we were young, then my dad and my brother-in-laws hid them for the grand kids, now the cousins are hiding the eggs for the cousins! It was pretty sweet! We only had three kids hunting eggs which was really different for us because we usually have a ton of kids hunting! My girls took their Easter dresses off the second they got home so after everyone left I made them put them back on so I could get a picture of them together! Don't they look adorable? Kayleigh was really reluctant to wear a dress, so one of her guy friends at church showed up with a dress on over his clothes. I asked her why Preston was wearing a dress and she told me he wore it so no one would tease her, they would tease him instead. I thought that was really sweet...and funny! Everyone left around three and Fletcher took a nice nap and we all relaxed for the rest of the afternoon. We took Fletcher back to TCC around 7:30pm. All in all it was a great day!

Getting ready for Easter

Today the girls and I went to TCC for an egg hunt with Fletcher. It was fun to get to see all three of my children together! Fletcher wasn't a big fan of the whole get together. The girls and I walked him around the building for at least thirty minutes thinking that would do the trick and put him a good mood for the party. Not so much. He gets really mad when that wheelchair stops moving! And every time I got my camera out he got even madder! That boy can be such a toot sometimes! Fletcher's speech therapist, Heather can always make him smile so I did get a few pictures of him smiling, none with his sisters, though! I don't know if you can tell or not but Heather was blowing bubbles in the second picture and he was cracking up! His eyes are closed because those bubbles were getting pretty close!

Aren't they wonderful?

Bubbles...

So cute!

Tonight we went to church for the Good Friday service. We had the special treat of having communion together. I can't remember the last time I was served communion. After church we came home and colored our Easter eggs. Maddie and Kayleigh did a great job and made them all so cute and colorful. Every year I take a picture of the girls coloring eggs. When I took this picture tonight I couldn't help but feel sad. I do not and probably will not ever have a picture of all three of my kids at that very table coloring eggs together. Emotionally, I have been doing so well lately, but tonight I couldn't quit thinking about our family traditions and the ones that Fletcher doesn't get to take part in. It makes me sad. For some reason this never gets easier. Please keep us in your prayers as we bring Fletcher home Sunday. We'd like a day filled with family, love and uneventfulness!

Spring has sprung...

The first day of spring! Ain't it great? I'm so ready for nice sunny weather! The girls have enjoyed their spring break. They spent three nights at a hotel with a swimming pool with Monna, Pops and Aunt Jackie. Maddie had a great time swimming, she turned into a little fish. She also was quite the social butterfly, she was on first name basis with every person that came to the pool! Kayleigh was able to hang out with one of her childhood friends Marley, shop and hang out some more with Marley and her BFF Vanessa. Thanks Monna and Pop for making spring break fun for the girls!

We're also getting ready for Easter. We are going to take Fletcher to church and then home for the afternoon. We're very excited to be able to get him home. We have invited my side of the family over for lunch and an egg hunt. That should be lots of fun. We'd appreciate your prayers that everything will go smoothly! I have been busy around here trying to get the house clean, work in the yard a little bit and I took on a project last weekend that I thought would be a nice quick change. I painted the girls bathroom and changed out the shower curtain and rugs. I used to love home improvement projects but I just haven't had the time, energy or motivation for the last three years. I really enjoyed that little bathroom project it was just what I needed. And I'm motivated to tackle the utility room!

Fletcher is doing well. He's been to school about three times this week. We have walked the halls of TCC about three times also. It's so fun to walk him through the building, people come out of their offices to talk to Fletcher when they see him coming. They stop us in the hall just so they can get him to blow kisses! TCC is a wonderful place and they make us feel so special. I don't know if there is a person in that building that doesn't know him. He's kind of like the Big Man on Campus! :) He is so loved and well cared for there. What a blessing! Tomorrow afternoon TCC will have their annual Easter egg hunt. I will take Maddie up there so she can hunt with him! It should be a lot of fun.

Gone fishin'

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in almost two weeks! We have been really busy around here. To start off, Fletcher is doing well. Last week TCC had an outbreak of RSV so I kept Fletcher in the unit, we didn't even go for walks! I wanted to keep that yucky RSV away from my boy! I'm not sure at this point in the game what a case of RSV would do to Fletcher. The last time he had it he was in the hospital for 48 days! So, I say no thanks! Fletcher did go to school today and he tolerated it well. They are doing a Dr. Seuss thing for the month of March. Today they read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and then the kids went 'fishing' the teachers had these cute little fishing poles with magnets on the end and some magnetic fish in tubs of water. Once Fletcher realized what was happening he loved it!

I love the look on his face...

He caught one!

This week is spring break for the girls and Kayleigh's grandparents, aunt, and Kayleigh's friend Marley came to OKC for a few days. They are all staying at a hotel with a swimming pool. I'm sure they'll have a lot of fun. Shopping is sure to be on the schedule with that gang. Kayleigh and Maddie both love to shop! It will be interesting to see what they come home with! Craig and I will have some time to ourselves each evening. Our home is so quiet without our girls!

I'm going to close for today. I'll post again soon. Hope you all are well!

Back in the routine...

Things seem to be getting back to normal around here. Fletcher has been to school three times and is tolerating it well. We are still walking around the building every morning and he just loves it! Yesterday he fell asleep in his wheelchair while we were out! I talked with the nurse practitioner today and she told me all of Fletcher's electrolytes are in the safe range. Praise the Lord! He seems to be proving everyone wrong if you ask me! Way to go Fletcher!

Ms. DeLisa and Fletcher back at school!

So sleepy!

Maddie has been reading like crazy the last few days. It's so exciting to see her enjoying books! Today after school she took all the books out of one of her book baskets and sat and read for about an hour. She took a book to Sam's today and to church tonight. She couldn't wait to read Green Eggs and Ham to her daddy. I bet she's reading on at least a first grade level, which I think is pretty awesome since she's five years old!

Empty book basket!

Kayleigh has started softball. She's playing on a new team this year, the Show Stoppers. Hopefully she will have fun and meet some new friends, get some exercise and fresh air! We love going to the ballpark and watching her play. It's a great time for our family. It is going to keep her busy though. She's already been to practice about 4 times! The round robins will be on March 24th. Last year she played catcher and she's not sure that she wants to do that this year. So we'll see. Kayleigh's also busy getting ready for CRT (state testing).

Well, that's all for now. It's getting late and I'm getting tired! Have a good night!
